The candidate will develop nose organoid models and support various biological research projects. A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in relevant fields is required along with basic laboratory skills. The Signature Research Programme in Emerging Infectious Diseases (EID) aims to pioneer the development and discovery of new and more effective methods for the treatment, prevention and control of new and emerging pathogens. The key outcome of the research will be the early identification of new pathogens, out of which new diagnostic tests, treatments and control strategies will be developed.
This position is for a full-time Research Assistant in the Coronavirus Lab led by Assistant Professor Mart Lamers in EID. Our team uses cutting‑edge technology (e.g. organoids, CRISPR/Cas9, and single cell omics) to understand coronavirus‑host interactions relevant to pandemic potential and pathogenesis.
The laboratory of Assistant Professor Mart Lamers is looking for a Research Assistant to further develop nose organoid models for application in the fields of vaccinology and gene therapy. The selected candidate will perform a variety of research activities which include planning, organising and conducting research studies within the overall scope of a research project under the supervision of the Principal Investigator or his/her designate, including but not limited to the following:
