Overview

The Department of Pathology at the National University of Singapore invites applications for a Research Assistant to join a multidisciplinary team studying haematolymphoid malignancies, with a focus on lymphoma. The lab integrates genomics, digital pathology, and advanced spatial platforms to advance biomarker discovery and pre‑clinical testing of novel therapeutic agents. Your contributions will support improvements in diagnosis, prognosis, and therapeutic targeting for patients with lymphoma.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform experiments in cell culture and molecular biology to support translational research projects.
  • Conduct protein and nucleic‑acid workflows, including Western immunoblotting and DNA/RNA‑based assays.
  • Support genomics/epigenomics‑related sample preparation and profiling workflows (e.g., DNA/RNA/methylome‑related procedures) as required by project needs.
  • Optimise protocols, troubleshoot experimental issues and maintain reproducible workflows.
Support role (administration and safety)
  • Provide administrative support for research activities as needed.
  • Support lab safety and compliance by maintaining records, following SOPs/biosafety requirements, and assisting with audits and safety training.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master degree in life sciences, biomedical sciences, biochemistry, or a closely related field from a well‑recognised university.
  • Hands‑on experience with molecular biology workflows, preferably involving DNA/RNA extraction and QC, PCR/qPCR.
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and excellent written and oral communication.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a diverse, interdisciplinary research environment.
Preferred (advantageous but not required)
  • Familiarity with NGS and/or omics platforms (e.g., bulk RNA‑seq, targeted sequencing panels, scRNA‑seq, methylation or proteomics workflows).
  • Willingness to learn bioinformatics and data analysis, with any prior exposure to R/Python, basic command‑line, or analysis pipelines.
What We Offer
  • Training and mentorship in advanced spatial transcriptomics/proteomics, digital pathology pipelines, and reproducible research practices.
  • Collaboration opportunities with pathologists, oncologists, and computational biologists.
  • Opportunities for co‑authorship on publications and conference presentations, commensurate with contribution.
  • A supportive and inclusive lab culture focused on rigorous, patient‑impactful science.
