Job summary

NANYANG TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY invites applications for a Research Assistant on a 6-month contract (with possible extension) in the Science of Learning in Education Centre (SoLEC).

The CHARM Study aims to develop learning pedagogy for middle-aged adults and includes literature reviews, learning-material design, and evaluation of learning outcomes. The role involves conducting reviews, creating materials, supporting delivery, and analyzing learning data.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Education, Psychology, Neuroscience, or related field.
• Experience conducting systematic literature reviews.
• Experience designing and developing learning materials.
• Experience teaching at any educational level.
• Experience designing and administering instruments to evaluate learning goals.
• Experience designing interview protocols.
• Experience conducting quantitative and qualitative analyses.
• Experience disseminating research findings to general public and academic audiences.

Responsibilities

• Conduct systematic literature reviews (summarizing, coding, organizing literature).
• Design and develop learning materials for the program (topics like nervous system, brain development, brain anatomy).
• Support the delivery of the program.
• Design and administer instruments to evaluate program learning goals (pre- and post- knowledge).
• Design semi-structured interview protocols and conduct qualitative analysis (summarizing, coding).
• Compute statistical analyses for findings from reviews and interviews.
• Contribute to research translation and dissemination of findings to general public and academic audiences.
• Perform other tasks as required by the Principal Investigators.

The National Institute of Education invites suitable applications for the position of Research Assistant on a 6-month contract (with possibilities of extension) at the Science of Learning in Education Centre (SoLEC).

Project Title: Cerebrovascular Health, Adult Learning, Resilience and Mechanisms: CHARM Study

Project Introduction: As part of CHARM study, we will develop learning pedagogy for middle aged adults based on the principles of neuropsychological pedagogy and life-style interventions. Two learning packages will be designed with each package comprising a pre-course, course, and post-course components. The course components will include lectures, group-activities, and homework. The content will be developed by our team, in close collaboration with adult learners, through interviews and focus group sessions comprising learners of various age groups and occupational-types.

Requirements:

Academic qualification:

Bachelor degree in Education and/or Psychology and/or Neuroscience or similar areas

Work experience:

• Prior experience conducting systematic literature reviews
• Prior experience designing and developing learning materials
• Prior experience teaching at any educational level
• Prior experience designing and administering instruments to evaluate learning goals
• Prior experience designing interview protocols
• Prior experience conducting quantitative and qualitative analysis
• Prior experience disseminating research findings targeting the general public and academic audiences

Responsibilities:

• To conduct systematic literature reviews (summarizing, coding, and organizing relevant literature).
• To design and develop learning materials for the program including topics such as general characteristics of the nervous system and core aspects of brain development and brain anatomy.
• To support the delivery of the program.
• To design and administer instruments to evaluate the program learning goals by assessing pre-and post- knowledge concerning brain and cognitive development, for example.
• To design semi-structured interview protocols and conduct qualitative analysis (summarizing, coding, and organizing relevant literature).
• To compute different statistical analyses for the findings obtained in the systematic literature reviews and semi-structured interviews.
• To contribute to research translation and dissemination of findings targeting the general public and academic audiences.
• To perform other tasks as required by the Principal Investigators.
