Job summary

Unchain Data is seeking a Research Staff member to explore how large language models can inform blockchain consensus design, with a focus on NLP-driven approaches and applications in supply chain finance.

You will collaborate with Asst. Prof. Qin Hanzhang and his team at NUS ISEM/AI Institute, based at Kent Ridge Campus. The role requires strong programming skills in Python and Solidity, and a rigorous research mindset to deliver impactful results.

Qualifications

• Candidates must hold a relevant bachelor's degree.
• Strong background in NLP and ML concepts.
• Experience with blockchain consensus and smart contracts.
• Proficient in Python and Solidity; familiar with ML libraries.

About the Role

In the era of rapidly advancing artificial intelligence, this project aims to explore how to leverage the power of large language models for meaningful blockchain consensus designs. The project will also look into applications in supply chain finance and is supported by DTC Singapore. The successful candidate will work with Asst. Prof. Qin Hanzhang and his team at NUS ISEM/AI Institute.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, Finance, Financial Engineering or other related Engineering or Science disciplines
• Background in Natural Language Processing (NLP): candidates should have understanding of machine learning principles, particularly in the field of NLP. Familiarity with transformer architectures, such as BERT, GPT, or T5, and experience in fine-tuning and training these models on large datasets
• Proficiency in Blockchain and Cryptocurrency: prior exposure to and understanding of blockchain mechanisms, especially consensus, is essential. Proficiency in writing smart contracts for specific purposes
• Strong programming skills, particularly in languages commonly used in machine learning and smart contracts, such as Python and Solidity
• Adeptness with libraries and frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hugging Face Transformers, and Scikit-learn
