Job Description

The successful candidate will join a diverse team led by Professor Stephen Pointing, to work in the general area of marine microbiology and oil pollution research.

The responsibilities of the position include:

  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with safe laboratory operations, perform procurement for research activities including liaison with suppliers and use of university purchasing system, and other administrative duties related to research support as required.
  • Support laboratory and fieldwork research activities related to marine microbiology and oil pollution. The appointee will also have the opportunity to engage scientifically in research projects according to their interests.
Qualifications

BSc (Hons) Degree in a Biological Science, with preference for specialisation in Microbiology or Marine Biology.

  • Good organizational skills

Experience:

  • Prior experience in a research laboratory is desirable but not essential.
