Qualifications

• Master's degree in physics, computer science, applied mathematics or a related area (for the research associate position).

• Research experience and strong programming skills, e.g., Python.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with the Principal Investigator, Assistant Professor Zhang Yuxuan, and group members on quantum information and quantum simulation projects.
• Contribute to research activities in quantum information, quantum computation, tensor networks, and ML for quantum computing.

Job Description

The National University of Singapore invites applications for the position of Research Assistant / Research Associate in quantum computing and artificial intelligence, in the Department of Computer Science, School of Computing (SoC). SoC is strongly committed to research excellence in all its dimensions: Searching for fundamental results and insights, developing novel computational solutions to a wide range of applications, building large-scale experimental systems and improving the well-being of society. We seek to play an active role both internationally and locally in the core and emerging areas of Computer Science and Information Systems.

The successful candidates will collaborate closely with the Principal Investigator, Assistant Professor Zhang Yuxuan, with other members of the group, and with the wider Singapore quantum AI ecosystem, on one or more research projects in quantum information and quantum simulation. Candidates should have experience or interest in at least one of the following research areas:

• Quantum information and quantum computation
• Quantum many-body physics and quantum simulation
• Tensor networks and classical simulation algorithms
• Machine learning for quantum computing
• Scientific software development for quantum simulation
