The Signature Research Programme in Cardiovascular and Metabolic Disorders at Duke-NUS is seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant trained in computational biology and statistics to perform bioinformatic analyses of next-generation sequencing (NGS) data, including bulk and single-cell RNAseq, spatial transcriptomics, and metabolomics.

Responsibilities
  • Perform tasks and support all aspects of the research project.
  • Develop and maintain analysis pipelines and computational tools.
  • Interpret data and generate visualisations to support scientific publications and presentations.
  • Collaborate with wet-lab researchers to integrate computational findings with experimental data.
  • Assist with data management, documentation, and reproducibility practices.
  • Stay current with relevant bioinformatics tools, databases, and literature.
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described therein.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field. Entry candidates may also be considered.
  • Strong foundation in statistical analysis and data interpretation.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as R and Python.
  • Ability to carry out basic molecular biology techniques related to library cloning and NGS library construction is highly desirable.
  • Experience and knowledge in RNA-seq and single-cell RNA-seq data analysis, including the use of pipelines such as Seurat.
  • A strong team player who is open-minded, energetic, highly motivated and can work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team and diverse workforce.
