Job summary

BeeX is building cutting-edge Hovering Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (HAUVs) and providing autonomous maintenance solutions for underwater assets. As a Repair Engineer, you will diagnose, repair, and maintain HAUVs and subsea payloads, ensuring safety and reliability for missions in harsh underwater environments.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in mechanical/electrical/electronic/mechatronics or marine engineering.
  • 2–5 years hands-on repair or maintenance experience with robotics or marine equipment.
  • Proficient troubleshooting with electrical/electronic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
  • Familiar with mechanical assembly, sealing/waterproofing, torque/fastening standards.
  • Comfortable using hand and power tools and basic workshop/test equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving with meticulous documentation.
  • Willingness to work outside standard hours or travel for on-site repair support.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose faults in HAUVs and subsea payloads after field deployments or bench tests.
  • Carry out corrective and preventive maintenance on hulls, thrusters, tethers, and housings.
  • Repair and calibrate onboard sensors, cameras, sonar units, and navigation modules.
  • Perform waterproofing, pressure, and leak testing before vehicles return to service.
  • Troubleshoot power, communication, and control system faults to component level.
  • Maintain repair logs and spare parts usage in the maintenance system.
  • Identify recurring failures and feed findings back to Mfg and R&D for design improvements.
  • Manage spare parts inventory and flag reorder points.

Your Role

Your role is Repair Engineer. Your daily schedule will include frequent interactions with New Product Development, Production, and Operations teams. You will directly report to the Technical Lead.

Your Job Scope

  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults in HAUVs and subsea payloads following field deployments or bench testing.

  • Carry out corrective and preventive maintenance on vehicle hulls, thrusters, tethers, connectors, penetrators, and pressure housings.

  • Repair and calibrate onboard sensors, cameras, sonar units, and navigation modules.
LU
  • Perform waterproofing, pressure, and leak testing before vehicles are returned to service.
LU
  • Troubleshoot power, communication, and control system faults down to component level.
LU
  • Maintain accurate repair logs, root-cause analysis of records, and spare parts usage in the maintenance management system.

  • Identify recurring failure patterns and feed findings back to Manufacturing and R&D to drive design improvements.
LU
  • Manage spare parts inventory for repairs, flagging reorder points to procurement.
LU
  • Support pre-deployment checks, post-mission inspections, and turnaround servicing between missions.
LU
  • Ensure all repair work complies with safety, quality, and documentation standards.
LU
  • Provide occasional on-site / offshore repair support during operations, as required.

Desired Qualities

  • Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Marine, or related engineering discipline.

  • 2–5 years of hands‑on repair or maintenance experience with robotics, marine equipment, electronics, or similar mechatronic systems.

  • Working knowledge of electrical/electronic troubleshooting (multimeters, oscilloscopes, soldering, wiring harnesses).
LU
  • Familiarity with mechanical assembly, sealing/waterproofing techniques, and torque/fastening standards.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics.

  • Comfortable working with hand and power tools, and basic workshop/test equipment.

  • Strong problem‑solving mindset with meticulous attention to detail and documentation.

  • Able to work outside standard hours or travel for on‑site repair support.

Good to Have

  • Prior experience with underwater vehicles (ROV/AUV/UUV), diving equipment, or marine robotics.

  • Experience with pressure/leak testing rigs and subsea connectors (e.g. SubConn, Impulse).

  • Exposure embedded systems, PCB‑level repair, or firmware flashing.

  • Knowledge of CMMS or similar maintenance‑tracking systems.
