An international cosmetics & beauty company is seeking a Regulatory Affairs Specialist or Manager to join their team in Japan. This role involves ensuring compliance under Japan's PMD Act and managing product filings. The candidate should possess a minimum of 3 years in Regulatory Affairs within related industries, supported by hands-on knowledge of Japanese regulations for cosmetics. Fluency in Japanese and English is preferred to facilitate communication with stakeholders. A fast-growing international cosmetics & beauty company is expanding into the Japanese market and is seeking a Regulatory Affairs Specialist or Manager to join at an exciting market‑entry stage.

The business has achieved exceptional growth (45%+ in 2023, 35%+ in 2024), offering a rare opportunity to build and shape regulatory operations from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure regulatory compliance for cosmetics (and quasi‑drugs where applicable) under Japan’s PMD Act and related regulations
• Manage product registration and filings with MHLW / PMDA
• Liaise with regulatory authorities and support inspections
• Support quality management activities (QC/QMS/GMP) as needed
• Handle product safety reporting, documentation, and internal training
• Collaborate with R&D, production, sales, and supply chain teams

Requirements

• At least 3 years of Experience in Regulatory Affairs within cosmetics or pharmaceutical‑related industries. Hands‑on knowledge of Japan regulations for cosmetics.
• Experience in setting up or scaling regulatory/quality functions is a strong plus.
• Ability to read and prepare documentation in Japanese & English preferred to liaise with international members and stakeholder.
