Job summary

St Luke's Hospital - Singapore in Singapore seeks a dedicated registered nurse to join the ward team to provide safe and competent patient care. You will maintain documentation, support the Nurse Manager, and ensure infection control and proper use of equipment.

The role requires a diploma or degree in nursing, valid SNB registration, and at least 2 years of ward experience. Shift work includes 3 rotating shifts and weekends.

Qualifications

  • Registered with the Singapore Nursing Board.
  • At least Diploma or Degree in Nursing or its equivalent with minimum of 2 years' ward experience.
  • Able to work 3-rotating shifts and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain safe and clean environment for patients.
  • Provide safe and competent care to patients under her charge.
  • Utilise a systematic approach in the delivery of care.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of patients' condition and treatment.
  • Perform procedure according to the Standard of Clinical Practice.
  • Check emergency equipment / trolley.
  • Assist the Nurse Manager in coordinating and integrating the operations and manpower deployment in the ward.
  • Precept and orientate new nurses and nursing students.
  • Supervise nursing care activities with enrolled nurses, nursing aides and patient care assistant.
  • Anticipate staffing problem and take necessary action to solve problem.
  • Ensure safe and clean environment for patients.
  • Practice as per Infection Control Policies and Protocol.
  • Participate and contribute to Nursing/Hospital Quality Assurance or Work Improvement Programmes.
  • Utilise research findings in practice.
  • Keep abreast of new nursing / medical development and trends; contribute and suggest and implement new ideas to improve nursing services.
  • Able to care and maintain equipment and report any defects.
  • Use and maintain supplies appropriately.
  • Ensure the availability and proper usage of supplies and equipment in ward.
  • Evaluate new equipment and collate feedback.
  • Management of the ward inventory of consumables and oversee the requisition of sufficient stock.
  • Assist the Clinical Instructor in the orientation and training of new and junior staff.
  • Assist in facilitation and implementation of Nursing Programmes in ward.
