We are looking for a tax professional with strong tax fundamentals, problem-solving skills and learning agility who will grow into a regional tax advisor supporting subsidiaries across the Asia Pacific region.
The successful candidate will work with local finance teams and external advisors across multiple countries to review tax compliance, support tax risk management initiatives and provide practical tax solutions for business operations and projects.
[Key Responsibilities]
Tax Compliance Review & Support
- Review and monitor corporate income tax, VAT/GST and other tax compliance matters of subsidiaries across the Asia Pacific region.
- Support local finance teams in identifying and resolving tax issues.
- Monitor significant tax regulatory developments and assess business implications.
- Identify potential tax risks and improvement opportunities through periodic tax reviews.
- Support the development of tax governance frameworks and internal tax control processes.
- Assist in establishing standardized tax management guidelines across subsidiaries.
Tax Audit & Controversy Support
- Support subsidiaries in tax audits, tax authority inquiries and tax assessments.
- Coordinate with local teams and external advisors to develop appropriate responses and supporting documentation.
- Assist in managing tax dispute and controversy matters.
Business & Project Support
- Provide tax support for new business initiatives, operational changes and cross-border transactions.
- Participate in regional tax projects and process improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with business, finance and accounting teams to ensure tax considerations are appropriately addressed.
Tax Capability Development
- Promote tax awareness and knowledge sharing within the organization.
- Participate in developing and improving tax management processes and best practices.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Asia Tax Center.
[Qualifications]
Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Tax, Accounting, Finance, Business or related field.
- 4+ years of experience in taxation, accounting, finance or related areas.
- Strong understanding of corporate tax, indirect tax and tax compliance principles.
- Ability to analyze tax issues and apply regulations in practical business situations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Business-level English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work in a dynamic international environment.
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
- Proactive and self-driven individual who takes ownership of responsibilities and actively drives issue resolution.
- Ability and willingness to travel internationally within the Asia Pacific region as required.
Preferred
- Experience in multinational corporations, or professional services firms (Big4).
- Exposure to VAT/GST, withholding tax or international tax matters.
- Experience in supporting tax audits, investigations or tax controversy matters.Experience in transfer pricing, tax technology or tax process improvement projects.
- Experience working in a regional or international business environment.
