Volt Auto is driving the future of mobility as the exclusive distributor of Dongfeng EVs in Singapore. With our rapid expansion into Malaysia, we are seeking a Regional Senior Accountant to serve as the key liaison between our Singapore HQ and the Malaysia finance team.

Position Overview

Reporting to the Head of Finance, the Regional Senior Accountant will ensure accurate and compliant financial reporting. This role manages financial statement preparation, consolidation, and variance analysis while supporting business decisions with clear financial insights. It also manages month‑end close, general ledger integrity, audits, and tax compliance, driving process improvements and system efficiency for the region.

Responsibilities
Regional Financial Reporting and Analysis
  • Financial Statement Preparation: Overseeing and ensuring the accurate and timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the region, in compliance with corporate standards, US GAAP, IFRS, or relevant local accounting principles.
  • Consolidation: Assisting with the consolidation of financial data from various entities within the region.
  • Variance Analysis: Conducting detailed analysis of financial results against budget and forecasts, explaining significant variances to regional and corporate management.
  • Ad‑hoc Reporting: Providing specialized financial reports and analysis to support regional and global business decisions.
General Accounting and Operations Management
  • Month‑End/Year‑End Close: Leading or significantly contributing to the regional month‑end and year‑end closing processes.
  • General Ledger (GL) Management: Managing GL activities, including preparing, reviewing, and approving complex journal entries, and ensuring the integrity of all financial data.
  • Reconciliations: Performing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations (e.g., bank accounts, intercompany accounts, fixed assets) for regional entities.
  • Intercompany Transactions: Managing and reconciling intercompany transactions and balances across different regional subsidiaries.
Compliance, Tax, and Audit
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring that all financial records and reporting comply with local statutory regulations, tax laws, and industry‑specific requirements within the region.
  • Internal Controls: Developing, implementing, and monitoring strong internal controls and accounting policies across the region to safeguard assets and ensure financial integrity.
  • Audit Coordination: Acting as a key contact and liaison for external and internal auditors for the region, preparing audit schedules, and providing necessary documentation.
  • Tax Support: Assisting with regional tax compliance, including working with local tax consultants and coordinating the timely and accurate submission of tax filings (e.g., VAT, GST, Corporate Tax).
Leadership and Process Improvement
  • Mentorship: Providing guidance, training, and oversight to junior accountants or finance staff within the region.
  • Process Improvement: Identifying opportunities to streamline and improve accounting processes, controls, and use of financial systems across the regional entities for greater efficiency and accuracy.
  • System Proficiency: Utilizing and optimizing regional or global Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (e.g. NetSuite) and other accounting software.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum 4 to 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally including multi‑entity or international exposure.
  • In‑depth knowledge of accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS) and advanced proficiency in Excel and ERP systems.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across time zones and cultures.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple priorities, and maintain a high level of accuracy.
  • Willingness and ability to travel regionally as needed to support audits, projects, and cross‑functional collaboration.
