Job description
Regional Polymer Technical Support (Exp Plastics, Chemical, JURONG ISL)

Company :Japanese MNC established in 1931 in polymer, plastics and injection molding manufacturing, petrochemical industry.

Working Hour / Location :8:30am to 5:15pm (Mon - Fri) / Jurong Island (transport pickup to and fro at Jurong East & Outram Park, MRT station)

Remunerations :Up to $5,500 basic + $370 island and transport reimburse, monthly fixed allowance

Responsibilities
  • Provide overall technical solutions to customers including tooling and part design analysis (CAE, injection molding)
  • Work within the Technical Support Center (TSC) to use technical industry knowledge and data to expand the engineering plastics business in ASEAN and India.
  • Investigate mechanical and physical properties of engineering plastics using scientific instruments in new developments.
  • Provide technical support such as technical data, competitor grade comparison for pre‑sales development, and technical advisory for after‑sales services.
  • Perform failure benchmark testing, localization, and destructive or non‑destructive analysis to determine physical defects.
  • Record experiment data, maintain documentation and records.
  • Conduct market research on latest technology trends related to current/future applications.
  • Plan and collaborate with the commercial team to create mid‑term and long‑term business strategies.
  • Provide solutions and technical support to the commercial team to meet short‑term budget targets.
  • Plan and evaluate analysis methods for application requirements and provide data to customers for development.
  • Translate technical requirements into material properties for R&D to formulate new material.
  • Support negotiation of newly formulated material technical properties limitations with customers.
  • Support technical marketing activities for new markets/customers.
  • Provide technical training to business partners, traders, distributors, and customers.
  • Organize trade shows to enhance company brand marketing and conduct molding trials with customers.
Requirements
  • Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemical Process Technology (Plastics/Polymer), Chemistry or related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in plastics injection molding and chemical analysis for plastics or chemicals.
  • Knowledge of polymer/plastics a must.
  • Japanese Language JLPT N1/N2 an added advantage.
  • Good business acumen, Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint proficiency.
  • Previous exposure to laboratory analysis equipment a plus.
  • Strong personal skills: stress management, statistical skills, research, project management, self‑motivation, analytical skills, time/priority management, work independently.
  • Overseas travelling required.
  • Driving experience or Class 3 driving license a plus.
