Department: New Business Promotion Dept
Reports to: General Manager
Functional relationships:
- New business development departments in HQ, Japan
- Corporate R&D departments in Japan
- Overseas sales affiliates in ASEAN & India
POSITION PROFILE
This position is to promote new business in ASEAN & India region for Environment and Wellness markets. Also, to develop new business models & necessary infrastructure for data driven products & services in ASEAN & India region for the target applications and markets.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Policy, strategy alignment and coordination of projects by collaborating with Japan HQ or other group company in Japan.
- To initiate periodical meetings with Japan HQ or other group company to solve problems in own division.
- Responsible for new business creation in data driven products & services for environment and wellness markets.
- Work closely with the Japan HQ for new business development initiatives.
- Responsible for technology scouting to grasp new technologies and make improvement proposals to create new business models.
- To be a bridge between related Japan R&D departments to get necessary information timely to enhance regional new business activities.
- To transfer related new technologies from Japan to the on-going projects in ASEAN & India region.
- To lead open innovation activities in Singapore and bridge with Japan HQ.
- To organize and provide technical & business development trainings to local team members.
Ability/Competency required
- To hold bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in engineering or science field.
- At least 10 years working experience in electronics industry and with new business development roles.
- To have deep & specialized technical knowledge on design and development of materials / process / device and to be able to fully utilize it in actual job for improvement.
- To have business fluent Japanese and English language skills to liaise with Japan R&D & HQ, and local staffs in Murata’s ASEAN + India affiliates.
- To have logical thinking, analytical skill, and good engineering sense.
- To have strong mind-set for change and improvement.
- To have proactive attitude and strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- To have networking ability with industry level experts and internal domain experts.
