About the Role
Caldic is seeking an experienced and dynamic Regional Industry Director for APAC to lead and accelerate the growth of our business within the Food and Nutrition (FNN) markets across the Asia‑Pacific region. In this strategic leadership role, you will drive Caldic’s commitment to delivering tailored and innovative solutions by building and strengthening partnerships with existing and new regional Principals. You will also work closely with local country teams to implement strategies that expand market share, optimise the supply chain, and enhance revenue in the industrial specialties raw materials sector. As the Regional Industry Director, you will be pivotal in shaping and executing Caldic’s regional strategy. By collaborating across functions, including product innovation, operations, and customer solutions, you’ll create lasting value for both suppliers and customers. Your role will also involve identifying growth opportunities that align with Caldic’s customer‑centric approach, optimising distribution networks, and ensuring a best‑in‑class product portfolio that meets both current and future market demands within the FNN sectors.
Key Responsibilities
1. Principal Management & Supplier Partnerships
- Strengthen and Expand Supplier Relationships Build and nurture relationships with existing regional Principals (key suppliers) to enhance mutual growth, ensuring alignment with Caldic’s commitment to high‑performance solutions.
- Expand APAC Principal Portfolio Identify and secure new partnerships with industry‑leading Principals, broadening Caldic’s product portfolio to meet evolving customer needs and market demands.
- Align Strategic Goals with Market Demands Collaborate closely with Principals to understand their strategic objectives, adapting these to local market trends and uncovering growth opportunities that benefit both Caldic and its partners.
- Negotiate Favorable, Compliance‑Focused Contracts Lead negotiations to establish fair, growth‑focused agreements that ensure compliance, strong supplier commitment, and alignment with Caldic’s operational goals.
- Facilitate Supplier Programs and Key Terms Oversee communication of supplier programs, budgets, pricing, and payment terms across the organization, ensuring cohesive execution that aligns with Caldic’s financial and operational objectives.
2. Market & Business Development
- Drive Regional Growth Strategy with Country Teams Collaborate with local teams to implement APAC growth initiatives that align with Caldic’s regional goals, ensuring market‑driven business expansion.
- Conduct Insightful Market Analysis Lead in‑depth analysis to anticipate emerging trends, understand customer needs, and identify new opportunities within the FNN markets, positioning Caldic as a solutions leader.
- Develop Targeted Sales Strategies Craft and execute sales strategies to maximise reach in key markets, targeting both existing and prospective customers to grow Caldic’s footprint in industrial specialties.
- Enhance Customer Base and Key Account Relationships Expand Caldic’s customer base and strengthen relationships with key accounts and end‑users, providing industry‑leading solutions across FNN sectors.
- Data‑Driven Performance Monitoring Regularly monitor and report on regional business performance, leveraging data insights to drive decision‑making and ensure strategic targets are consistently met.
3. Cross‑Functional Collaboration & Execution
- Foster Seamless Cross‑Functional Execution Partner with country teams, marketing, logistics, and technical support to ensure regional strategies are seamlessly executed and deliver measurable value to Caldic’s customers.
- Coordinate Regional Product Launches Lead the coordination of regional product launches and marketing campaigns in partnership with local teams and Principals, ensuring impactful market introductions.
- Collaborate with Technical and Application Teams Work closely with technical and application teams to develop solutions that precisely meet customer and market requirements, ensuring Caldic’s products are attuned to local demands.
4. Team Leadership & Development
- Inspire and Lead the Regional Industrial Team Provide strategic leadership to the regional team, collaborating with country managers to achieve shared objectives and drive Caldic’s mission in the APAC region.
Job Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Food and Nutrition, or a related field; MBA preferred.
- A minimum of 10+ years of experience in the chemical distribution or manufacturing industry, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role in the APAC region, ideally focused on Food and Nutrition distribution industries.
- Proven success in managing supplier relationships and establishing new business partnerships, with a demonstrated ability to enhance Caldic’s market presence within the FNN sectors.
- In‑depth knowledge of Food and Nutrition markets, including product applications, customer requirements, and competitive dynamics.
- Experience with P&L management, budgeting, and strategic growth execution across diverse APAC markets, aligned with Caldic’s operational and financial objectives.

- Fluent in English (spoken and written); proficiency in additional APAC languages is highly desirable for regional collaboration.
