Role Summary
The Regional Health, Safety, and Environmental Affairs Manager is responsible for leading HSE initiatives across manufacturing and service facilities within a defined geographic region. This role plays a key part in supporting Flowserve’s people-first culture by advancing safety beyond compliance, fostering accountability, and building an engaged, proactive HSE mindset. The successful candidate will guide regional leaders, strengthen HSE systems, and drive continuous improvement to ensure a safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible operation.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the regional implementation of Flowserve HSE policies and procedures in alignment with local regulatory requirements.
- Promote a strong safety culture, accountability, and continuous improvement mindset across sites.
- Provide technical guidance and strategic support for HSE programs, initiatives, and campaigns to ensure consistent and standardised execution.
- Evaluate risks, analyse incident trends, and support the development of preventive action plans and lessons-learned initiatives.
- Support and oversee accident and incident investigations, ensuring corrective and preventive actions are effectively implemented and aligned with the Accountability Matrix.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments of manufacturing and service centres to ensure compliance with corporate standards, HSE regulations, and operational policies.
- Lead follow-up discussions with regional teams to share best practices, reinforce expectations, and monitor site responses to safety alerts and initiatives.
- Participate in regional management review meetings, presenting updates on HSE strategy, key metrics, and performance indicators.
- Monitor emerging HSE regulations, assess operational impacts, and develop corresponding regional strategies and action plans.
- Oversee environmental remediation and cleanup projects at company locations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or arelated field.
- Able to travel internationally approximately 30%.
- Proven experience in occupational health, safety, and environmental managementsystems.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to lead by example.
- Ability to work effectively in multinational, matrixed organisations.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Many years of progressive HSE experience in an industrial environment,preferably within large-scale manufacturing.
- Strong leadership competencies including proactivity, strategic planning,analytical thinking, organisational skills, and change management.
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and capability to motivate, coach, and mentorteams.
- Ability to build strong internal and external stakeholder relationships.
