About the Role

As a CBRE Electrical Engineer, you will provide essential design and engineering support for data center projects. This role falls within the Engineering and Technical Services job function, where you will be responsible for supporting, maintaining, and repairing equipment and systems. This is a full‑time, on‑site position with an expected duration until September 2026.

What You’ll Do
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define project design criteria, develop Basis of Design and lead internal technical scope reviews
  • Lead consultants through schematic design, design development, to construction documents
  • Provide construction administrative support to the project manager during construction
  • Respond to RFIs, issue technical bulletins, review submittals and shop‑drawings, conduct source inspections at vendor factories and participate in the data‑center construction commissioning process
  • Provide and analyze energy‑efficient solutions to minimize power losses
  • Review and develop detailed scripts for change‑management request (CMR) activities
  • Travel to data‑center sites for engineering studies, electrical systems audits, startup testing, and full commissioning as required. Approximately 25% travel to domestic and international project locations
  • Provide electrical mission‑critical system review services to local data‑center operations teams
  • Participate in equipment failure or power‑outage related incident root‑cause analysis (RCA)
  • Provide instructions to design consultants, installation contractors and validate the quality of installed works
  • Respond on an as‑needed basis to emergencies
  • Serve as owner engineer able to navigate competing priorities and effectively deliver capacity
About you
  • BS in Electrical Engineering, or related degree
  • Electrical Professional Engineer registration, or working towards it
  • Minimum of eight (8) years professional experience in electrical distribution design and construction
  • Experience with high voltage (>115 kV), medium voltage (35 kV, 20 kV, 12 kV) substation design, low‑voltage (480 V/400 V) power distribution, and UPS systems
  • Experience with industry standards, building codes and safety standards including NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, IEC, BS EN, NSAI and IEEE
  • Experience with construction and cost estimating processes
  • Experience with electrical safety programmes
  • Experience with retrofits in operational facilities
  • Experience with cross‑discipline critical facility systems (e.g., Mechanical, Building Management Systems, Fire Alarm/Fire Protection)
  • Experience with AutoCAD or Revit, Visio, Bluebeam, and SKM software
  • Troubles‑hooting and analytical skills
  • Experience providing solutions to complex projects under pressure
Preferred Qualifications
  • Electrical Professional Engineer registration PE/CEng
  • Data‑center or mission‑critical design, construction and operations experience
  • Experience on large‑scale electrical construction projects
  • Project management experience
  • Experience in data‑center or mission‑critical design and construction support
  • Experience with electrical power management/SCADA systems
  • Experience performing short‑circuit and arc‑flash studies
  • IEEE PES or IEEE IAS membership
  • Strong communication skills
