An international corporate legal firm is seeking a legal advisor to support its regional affiliates. The role involves drafting and reviewing contracts, advising on legal risks, and providing guidance for operational processes. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in international corporate legal affairs, particularly within the construction industry. This position requires excellent drafting and analytical skills, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office. Knowledge of Southeast Asian business regulations is advantageous.
Support legal functions and provide guidance on legal aspects for regional affiliates in response to affiliates’ needs and objectives.
Draft and/or review contracts, legal documents and correspondences.
Identify and analyse potential legal and contractual risks relating to projects and business transactions and formulate risk mitigating solutions.
Support the negotiation of contracts and transactions where necessary.
Coordinate with and communicate advice to internal stakeholders on legal issues.
Assist in monitoring and identifying potential legal issues as they arise.
Recommend legal strategy and course of action in disputes and support legal proceedings where applicable.
Assist with the development and implementation of internal contract review and risk management processes.
Assist with the planning and implementation of legal projects (e.g., internal legal training for affiliates’ staff, standardization and update of templates and internal policies).
Conduct legal research and stay abreast of developments in international laws, regulations, and industry-related practices especially in ASEAN jurisdictions and make timely internal updates.
Collaborate and coordinate with other departments and external parties where necessary.
Perform other related operational duties and administrative support as assigned.
A recognized degree in Law.
At least 5 years of experience in international corporate legal affairs, preferably in construction industry.
Good understanding and practical knowledge in construction law and contracts.
Excellent drafting, analytical and communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and information security literacy.
High attention to details, strong initiatives and sense of responsibility.
Familiarity with business operations and jurisdictions in Southeast Asia region will be an advantage.
