ICE Data Services Singapore Pte. Ltd. is seeking a Data Analyst to research, analyze, interpret, transform and present equity and funds reference data across global markets.

During a two-month training, you will build subject matter expertise and learn ICE databases to independently analyze legal and financial documents. You will support data quality, SLAs, and client-facing data delivery.

Qualifications

  • MBA/BS in Finance, Economics or equivalent practical experience.
  • 0-2+ years of relevant work experience in reference data operations or customer service; 2 years preferred.
  • Proficiency in English and Korean for stakeholders and document reviews.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, high pressured, fluid environment.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, interpret, collate and transform reference data for simple structures/events with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Own end-to-end equity reference data lifecycle: onboarding, maintenance, change management, archival.
  • Manage corporate actions impacts on reference data (splits, name changes, mergers, spin-offs).
  • Operate robust SLAs for timeliness, completeness, and data quality; drive near-real-time updates.
  • Apply ML/NLP/LLM techniques with human-in-the-loop to deliver accurate securities data.
  • Make sound decisions by applying subject matter expertise to legal/financial information.
  • Procure reference data via outreach to issuers, underwriters, fiduciary agents and bond counsel.
  • Provide customer support for ICE products in collaboration with DSG team.
  • Identify data quality trends and market techniques impacting coverage and completeness.
  • Research market initiatives and communicate insights to Product, Sales and Business teams.
  • Drive process improvements to increase accuracy, time-to-market and productivity.
  • Participate in ad hoc projects to optimize processes and data quality.
  • Communicate with market participants to procure data and resolve discrepancies.

Job description

Job Purpose

The primary purpose of this position is to research, analyze, interpret, transform and present reference data for Equity and Funds securities across Global markets.

The incumbent must successfully complete a two-month training program that centers on building enough subject matter expertise and the utilization of the database(s) of record such that the incumbent can independently analyze legal and financial documents associated with Equity and Fund securities. During training, the incumbent must master all the subject matter and will be required to pass a series of quizzes and tests as well achieve the accuracy and timeliness metrics that were established for trainees.

The training curriculum for the Data Analyst contains high level overviews of the complex structures worked on by more senior personnel as well as reference data client use cases so that the incumbent can differentiate between legal and financial language that is relevant to and required by our client base versus jargon describing information that is not required and, so that the incumbent can identify new financing techniques that come to market. The incumbent must then apply this foundation of knowledge via a logical sequence of decision-making events to determine relevancy of said information to our clients for any of their use cases and if deemed relevant, determine the appropriate next steps to ensure high client satisfaction levels.

The Equity and Funds asset class consists of significantly large volumes of active securities and the reference data provided by ICE Data Services for said securities is used by our clients to make trading decisions, settle trades, make investment decisions, manage portfolios, analyze risk, create security master files, create client statements and conduct other back-office functions. Our reference data is also used by internal stakeholders such as the Evaluated Pricing, Index and Analytics groups said reference data plays an integral role in determining evaluated prices, determining whether or not a security should be added to or deleted from an index or indices, the weighted average of a security within an index and, performing a series of analytical calculations that are used both internally within ICE and externally by these stakeholder's clientele.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, interpret, collate and transform reference data for simple structures/events in either the primary market or the secondary market (but not both) provided in a variety legal and financial documents, third party reports and vendor information while ensuring that the reference data provided in ICE's products and services accurate, comprehensive and in a timely manner, namely best in class with oversight from senior members of the team.
  • Own end-to-end equity reference data lifecycle: onboarding of new securities, data maintenance, change management, and archival.
  • Manage corporate actions impacts on reference data (splits, name changes, mergers, spin-offs).
  • Operate robust SLAs for timeliness, completeness, and data quality; drive near-real-time updates where applicable.
  • Ability to use ML/NLP/LLM techniques with a human-in-the-loop approach to delivery high accurate, timely securities data to downstream teams
  • Make sound, subjective decisions when interpreting legal and financial information by utilizing subject matter expertise to infer, deduce and ultimately draw the right conclusions.
  • Procure required documents and/or trusted content utilizing creative internet searches and by conducting direct outreach to issuers, underwriters, fiduciary agents and bond counsel.
  • Provide customer support in conjunction with the DSG team for users of ICE products by resolving inquiries in a timely manner and conducting additional analysis.
  • Help identify trends and causations of inaccurate and/or incomplete data including but not limited to staying current with new financing techniques used by the marketplace and organizations that impact coverage and completeness.
  • Research new market initiatives, regulatory updates, technological developments, and competitive trends, and communicate insights to relevant stakeholders—such as Product, Sales, and Business teams—in a timely, structured, and accurate manner.
  • Apply problem-solving skills to identify and help to resolve data quality issues and/or work‑flow inefficiencies and process improvements resulting in increased accuracy levels, time to market and productivity.
  • Participate in ad hoc projects to optimize processes and/or improve the quality of the data set.
  • Communicate with and influence market participants including underwriters, issuers, trust administrators and exchanges through phone and email correspondence to procure required reference data content, resolve data discrepancies and gain an understanding of undefined terms

Knowledge and Experience

  • MBA/BS in Finance, Economics or equivalent practical experience
  • 0 - 2+ years of relevant work experience from outside the organization directly working in reference data operations or customer service; 2 years relevant experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency in English and Korean is essential to communicate with English and Korean stakeholders and work with documents reviewing issuer sites, exchange notices, and regulatory documents in those languages
