Recovery Specialist
(Disaster Restoration / Technical Sales & Project Delivery)
About the Role
Join our team as a Recovery Specialist—the first technical expert clients meet after an incident such as fire, flood, contamination, or equipment breakdown. You’ll assess damage, design recovery solutions, prepare proposals, secure projects, and manage delivery through completion. This role blends technical expertise, solution selling, project management, and client relationship ownership, directly impacting revenue, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
1. Damage Assessment
- Attend incident sites to assess damage to buildings, machinery, equipment, and contents
- Develop technical recovery plans and submit quotations for loss mitigation, repair, and reinstatement
- Prepare technical reports and ensure all assessments comply with BELFOR standards and brand expectations
- Identify additional service opportunities (mechanical repair, reconstruction) and engage internal experts where required.
2. Commercial Responsibility
- Serve as main connection point, supporting clear communication between for clients, insurers, loss adjusters, brokers, and subcontractors
- Contract terms and conditions discussion and securing of contracts
- Build strong relationships to support pre-sales activities and improve conversion rates
- Maintain communication from first contact until client reinstatement.
3. Project Management
- Plan and manage projects from quotation to completion, including scope, schedule, cost, resources, and quality
- Accountable for the project management of schedule and cost management
- Lead technicians and subcontractors to ensure high service quality and safety compliance
- Ensure documentation, invoicing, and project closure are completed on time
- Coach and mentor junior Project Managers to elevate their competence.
What You Bring
1. Education and Experience
Diploma or Degree in Electronics, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering
5 to 12 years of experience in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, OR related technical environments such as facility management, industrial services, restoration, or equipment maintenance
Experience in semiconductor environments, decontamination projects, or contamination control is highly desirable
Candidates with deeper experience and demonstrated leadership capability may be considered for the Senior Recovery Specialist position.
2. Technical & Commercial Skills
- Strong technical knowledge and hands‑on experience in industrial plant or equipment maintenance
- Exposure to sales or commercial negotiation, including quotation and proposal preparation
- Experience in project financial management, including costing, budgeting, and margin tracking
- Understanding of quality systems, operational standards, and compliance requirements.
3. Leadership & Personal Attributes
- Strong stakeholder management and people leadership skills; able to influence and guide others
- Confident communicator, able to articulate technical concepts clearly to non‑technical audiences
- Calm under pressure with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Results‑driven, with accountability for both commercial and operational outcomes.
