A leading public transport operator in Singapore is seeking a Senior Manager in Rail Maintenance & Engineering to lead the development of maintenance strategies and drive technology adoption across operations. This role requires strong leadership and experience in rail maintenance, as well as a degree in Engineering. The successful candidate will enhance safety compliance and collaborate with various stakeholders.

Senior Manager, Rail Maintenance & Engineering is a key member of the SBS Transit Mobility team and is responsible for:
Leading the development and implementation of rail asset maintenance strategies in line with best practices and regulatory requirements.
Driving the adoption of condition-based and data-driven maintenance through technology and diagnostic tools.
Spearheading professional competency development and structured learning pathways under the Rail Achiever Scheme.
Supporting the formulation and governance of technical orders, SOPs, and engineering policies.
Providing engineering support for local and overseas rail tender bids and asset mobilizations.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams, regulators, OEMs, and industry partners to align strategies and adopt best practices.
Promoting and embedding a safety-first culture in all maintenance operations, audits, and incident investigations.
Education:
Degree in Engineering or Project Management.
Preferably with tertiary qualifications in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
Experience:
5 to 10+ years in rail maintenance or a similar engineering environment.
Proven experience in managing multi-disciplinary teams and subcontractors.
Familiarity with asset management systems, budgets, and fleet maintenance.
Desirable:
Experience with tenders, procurement, supply chain, or ISO:55001 implementation.
Skills & Knowledge:
Strong understanding of maintenance strategies, permit-to-work systems, and statutory compliance.
Skilled in risk assessment, incident investigation, and safety legislation interpretation.
Excellent planning, stakeholder management, and communication abilities.
Strong organisational and leadership capabilities to drive team performance and continuous improvement.
