Job summary

Lifescan Imaging in Singapore seeks a skilled nurse to provide direct patient care and counselling for imaging procedures. You will prepare patients, cannulate, administer contrast when required, and assist radiologists during interventional procedures with active patient monitoring.

Responsibilities include coordinating anaesthetist/day-surgery bookings, chaperoning radiology staff, and maintaining safety, infection control and equipment readiness across the radiology workflow.

Qualifications

• Valid nursing registration and practising certificate.
• 3–5 years of nursing experience in radiology, interventional radiology or day surgery.
• Experience with cannulation and contrast administration.

Job description

• Provide patient care and counselling, including preparation, consent and education for imaging and procedures.
• Prepare patients for scans and procedures, including cannulation and contrast administration as required.
• Assist Radiologists during interventional radiology procedures and provide patient monitoring and support.
• Coordinate anaesthetist and day surgery bookings for planned procedures.
• Chaperone and support Radiologists/Radiographers during examinations and procedures.
• Ensure equipment readiness, medication and medical supplies are adequately stocked and maintained.
• Perform routine checks of essential equipment, including BP machines, emergency trolley and other clinical equipment.
• Maintain patient safety, infection control and clinical standards throughout the radiology workflow.
• Support smooth coordination between patients, Radiologists, Radiographers, anaesthetists and other clinical teams.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Diploma/Degree in Nursing with valid nursing registration and practising certificate.
• 3-5 years of nursing experience, with relevant experience in Radiology, Interventional Radiology, Day Surgery or a similar clinical setting.
• Experience in patient preparation, cannulation, contrast administration and assisting interventional procedures.
• Strong knowledge of patient safety, infection control and clinical standards.
• Able to manage patients independently and respond appropriately to clinical emergencies.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with strong patient-centred care.
• Experience in guiding or mentoring junior nurses is an advantage.
• BLS/ACLS certification and relevant radiology/interventional nursing training are an advantage.
