Job summary

A marine technology firm in Singapore is seeking a Radio Surveyor to conduct VDR/SVDR performance tests and safety radio surveys on ships. The ideal candidate should hold a Diploma in Electronics, Electrical, or Telecommunications Engineering with at least two years of relevant experience, along with the General Operators Certificate. Responsibilities include engaging with customers, maintaining regulatory compliance, preparing survey reports, and performing other duties as assigned. Qualifications

  • Minimum Diploma in relevant engineering with at least two years of relevant experience.
  • Possession of General Operators Certificate (GOC) is required.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct VDR/SVDR annual performance tests and statutory safety radio surveys on ships.
  • Handle customer enquiries regarding statutory surveys.
  • Monitor and update regulations and IMO requirements.
  • Maintain and update survey checklists from classification bodies.
  • Ensure validity of approval certificates from classification authorities.
  • Identify types of surveys and monitor daily statutory activities.
  • Prepare survey reports for relevant classification authorities.
  • Document any equipment nonconformities in survey reports.
  • Perform ad-hoc duties assigned by superiors.

Responsibilities

  • To carry out VDR/SVDR annual performance tests and statutory safety radio survey on board ships.
  • Attend to enquiries and correspond with customers on statutory survey matters.
  • Monitor and update international convention regulations and International Maritime Organization (IMO) requirements.
  • Maintain and update survey checklists issued by classification bodies.
  • Maintain validity of approval certificates issued by classification bodies.
  • Identify nature of survey and monitor daily statutory survey activities.
  • Prepare survey report and submit to relevant classification authority.
  • Record any nonformities of equipment in the survey report.
  • Perform other ad-hoc duties as assigned by the superior.
Requirements
  • Minimum Diploma in Electronics / Electrical / Telecommunications Engineering with at least two (2) years relevant experience.
  • General Operators Certificate (GOC)
