Job summary

Singapore Maritime Institute (SMI) seeks a Senior Manager (R&D Capability Development) to shape maritime research strategy and lead major cross‑sector collaborations in Singapore. You will engage academia, industry, and research institutes to drive strategy, governance, and technology translation.

Lead multi‑stakeholder programmes and centres of excellence, coordinating roadmaps in Next Gen Port, Smart Shipping, and Green Technologies to deliver real-world impact.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Science/Engineering.
• Experience in supervisory/developmental capacity (3+ years).
• Experience in R&D strategy formulation and roadmapping.

Responsibilities

• Chart maritime research strategy across Next Generation Port, Smart Shipping, and Green Technologies.
• Bridge the gap between industry and academia—engaging IHLs, Research Institutes, and maritime companies.
• Facilitate international R&D collaborations and drive technology commercialisation.
