Job summary

The National Quantum Federated Foundry (NQFF) at A*STAR IMRE/NUS is seeking a research scientist to contribute to fabrication, characterization, and integration of quantum devices for sensing and computing.

You will join a multidisciplinary team performing hands-on work across fabrication, process development, and measurement, shaping devices from design to real-world demonstrations. A PhD or substantial equivalent experience is expected.

Qualifications

• PhD in physics, applied physics, electrical/electronics engineering, materials science & engineering, or a related discipline.
• Non-PhD holders with substantial hands on experience are welcome to apply.
• Hands-on device fabrication and/or measurement experience relevant to one or more of the focus areas above.
• Hands-on cryogenic measurement experience, including the handling and use of liquid helium.
• Familiarity with experimental data acquisition, analysis, and presentation.
• Familiarity with programming (especially Python and LabVIEW) for testing automation, measurement control, and data processing.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative working style.

Responsibilities

• Device Fabrication and Process Development — Fabricate quantum and nanoscale devices; develop and optimise process flows.
• Cleanroom Processing — Establish and refine cleanroom recipes for lithography, etching, deposition, and related steps.
• Device Characterisation and Measurement — Perform low‑temperature electrical characterisation; calibrate cryogenic setups; data analysis and feedback for better designs.
