Qualifications

  • Diploma/Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building, Construction, Engineering or related discipline.
  • Experience in Quantity Surveying, tendering, estimation or project costing, preferably within the construction industry.
  • Able to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and tender documents.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Detail-oriented, responsible and able to work within tight tender deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare quotations, cost estimates and tender submissions based on tender requirements.
  • Perform quantity take-off and measurement from drawings, specifications and tender documents.
  • Prepare and review BOQ, tender costing, project budgets and pre/post-tender estimates.
  • Prepare project costing covering materials, equipment, manpower and subcontractor costs.
  • Source quotations and liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing.
  • Assist in completing tender forms, technical documents, contractor particulars and supporting documentation.
  • Review tender specifications, drawings and requirements and coordinate with Operations on technical and costing matters.
  • Review contracts and tender documents and highlight discrepancies, commercial risks and unusual requirements.
  • Attend site show rounds, tender briefings and meetings when required.
  • Manage tender costing and documentation from pre-tender stage through tender submission.

About the role

We are looking for a Quantity Surveyor with experience in tendering, cost estimation and project costing within the construction/engineering industry.
