Job summary

A construction firm in Singapore is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to manage project budgets, negotiate quotations, and administer contracts. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Quantity Surveying and 3-6 years of experience, preferably in LTA MRT projects. Responsibilities include cost control, preparing tender documents, and handling subcontractor claims. This position offers an opportunity for career growth based on experience and performance.

Qualifications

  • At least 3 to 6 years of experience in similar position in construction industry.
  • Knowledge of PSSCOC and/or REDAS and/or SIA standard forms of Contracts.

Job description
Responsibilities:
  • Perform taking off and measurement of quantities, and establishing detailed BOQ

  • Source, review and negotiation of quotations

  • Work closely and liaise with both internal and external project stakeholders

  • Attend project meetings including site walks for progress claims’ evaluation

  • Project budget and cost control including prepare monthly financial budget report and presentations (For Senior position)

  • Prepare RFQ Subcontract tender documents, analyze and prepare cost comparison, post tender clarifications, tender interview, and award recommendation report

  • Sub-Contract administration including handling contractual documentation, correspondences and disputes matters

  • Assess, verify and response subcontractor's monthly progress claim, final account and variation orders in timely manner

Requirements:
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or in related disciplines

  • At least 3 to 6 years of experience in a similar position in construction industry, preferably with LTA MRT project, with additional preference for experience in major RC works

  • Candidate with more experience will be considered for a senior role

  • Knowledge of PSSCOC and/or REDAS and /or SIA standard forms of Contracts

  • Meticulous, analytical, eye for details and a good team player

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced and dynamic environment

  • Highly motivated, self-driven with initiatives to work independently
