Job summary

AECOM Singapore is seeking an MEP professional to provide design support and cost estimation for mechanical and electrical services. The role involves evaluating contractor proposals, preparing briefs, and maintaining client relationships.

The candidate interface includes on-site meetings, cost planning, and contract administration across MEP disciplines, leveraging English communication and teamwork to deliver premium services.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services Engineering from a recognized university.
• Postgraduate experience in design, supervision, project management, cost estimate or contract administration of MEP disciplines.
• Good interpersonal and teamwork skills and English written communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide general support and advice on mechanical and electrical services.
• Prepare design brief documents for mechanical and electrical services.
• Evaluate contractor design proposals and specifications.
• Carry out cost analyses on MEP services.

Job Description

• Providing general support & advice on various aspects of mechanical & electrical services
• Preparing design brief documents for all mechanical and electrical services
• Involve and drive performance standards through expert communication and effective use of the performance management process
• Evaluating Contractor's design proposals and specifications
• Carrying out cost analyses on mechanical and electrical services
• Maintain and develop good relationships with clients, take every opportunity to uphold and increase the profile of our firm as a provider of professional, premium quality services to the construction industry
• Attend onsite and consultants’ meetings and liaise with clients on MEP matters
• Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to calculate project costs
• Prepare various main MEP contracts and nominated sub-contracts for contract formalization
• Measure and take off quantities for MEP work elements
• Administer pre and post contract and consultancy work
• Assess variation orders, prepare interim valuations, cost plans and budget studies
• Compile contract documents for execution
• Understand and adhere to the statutory building regulations
• Undertake cost analysis for repair and maintenance of project work
• Allocate work to subcontractors
• Analyze outcomes and write detailed progress reports
• Maintain awareness of different building contracts in current use
• Valuing completed work and arranged payments
• Assessing interim payment applications and final accounts

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering from a recognized University
• At least 2 years postgraduate experience in the design, supervision, project management, cost estimate, tendering, pre and post contract administration of either mechanical or electrical disciplines may be considered for Senior Position
• Responsible, self-motivated and enthusiastic
• Good interpersonal and teamwork skills
• Good communication and written skills in English
• Applicants who hold a Degree in Building or Quantity Surveying and are conversant with mechanical and electrical building services may also be considered.
