Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Singapore seeks an experienced Quantity Surveyor to handle engineering drawings, manage subcontractor contracts, and evaluate project costs. The ideal candidate will hold a Diploma or Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and possess at least 3 years of relevant experience. Strong proficiency in MS Excel and the ability to work independently in a high-pressure environment are essential attributes for success in this role.

Qualifications

  • Min 3 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in construction.
  • Knowledge of contracts and the construction industry is an advantage.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret engineering drawings and perform quantity take-off.
  • Source suppliers for quotations and prepare price comparisons.
  • Administer and evaluate subcontractors’ contracts.

Job description
Responsibilities
  • Able to interpret engineering drawings, perform quantity take-off and relate works completed against engineering drawings/quantity take off
  • Source suppliers and subcontractors for quotations and prepare price comparison
  • Measure and determine the amount of work done at various stages of project to prepare periodic progress payment claim
  • Administer subcontractors’ contracts
  • Review and price assessment of variation cost claim submit by subcontractors
  • Assess and evaluate payments to subcontractors and suppliers
  • Work closely with project team in review, assess and evaluate subcontractors’ variation works
  • Liaise & coordinate with different level of personnel such as Main Contractors, Consultants, Subcontractors and Suppliers, etc
  • Co-ordinates with site team for relevant details required for final measurement
  • Adhoc QS duties assigned as and when
Job Requirement
  • Diploma / Degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering in related fields
  • Knowledge of contract and its structure is an added advantage
  • Min 3 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in construction industry will be added advantage
  • Able to work independently in challenging, fast‑paced and pressurised environment
  • Team player with right attitude, hardworking and resourceful
  • Well‑versed in MS Excel
  • Working Location - West
