Job summary

A construction and trading company in Singapore is looking for a Quantity Surveyor to assist with project tenders and manage procurement processes. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying and at least 3 years of relevant experience. Successful candidates will handle cost estimation, negotiate contracts, and ensure timely invoicing. Strong communication and technical skills are essential for success in this position.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying/Building or equivalent.
  • Able to read/understand/execute work based on construction drawings.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Able to work both independently and as a team member.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the tendering process from start to finish.
  • Take-off quantities and prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQ).
  • Source subcontractors and suppliers, measure quantities, and estimate costs.
  • Negotiate, administer, and pre and post tender/contract activities.

Job description
Overall Job Objectives

Assist Tender manager with project tender and to assist Project manager to establish the quantity, unit rate, cost. Manage the procurement, evaluation, claim, payment process and prepare the necessary data for cost reporting.

Core Responsibilities
  1. Participate in the tendering process from start to finish, including selecting bidders, preparing tender documents, submitting tenders, and awarding contracts.
  2. Take-off quantities and prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQ) along with drawings and specifications for soliciting quotations.
  3. Source subcontractors and suppliers, measure quantities, and estimate costs for both pre-contract and post-contract phases.
  4. Negotiate, administer, and pre and post tender/contract activities.
  5. Price and forecast the costs of various materials needed for the project.
  6. Follow up on the preparation of invoices, purchase orders, work orders, subcontract agreements, and letters of award to subcontractors and suppliers.
  7. Ensure timely follow-up on monthly progress claims.
  8. Attend site, client, and consultant meetings as required.
  9. Other ad hoc duties as assigned.
Job Specifications
  1. Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying/Building or equivalent from a recognized University.
  2. Able to read/understand/execute work based on construction drawings
  3. Good communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills
  4. Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
  5. Good technical knowledge – Measurement, cost estimating, & construction technology
  6. Able to work both independently and as a team member
