Job summary

Synechron is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to design, develop, and optimize big data solutions using Spark, Scala, and Elasticsearch. You will build scalable data pipelines, integrate with OCP, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet compliance needs in AML domains.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in IT, strong Quantexa expertise, and proficiency with Hadoop/Spark ecosystems, with hands-on experience in DevOps practices and containerized deployments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years' IT experience, preferably in a Compliance AML domain.
• Proficient with Quantexa software and certified as data engineer / data architect.
• Strong hands-on experience with Hadoop, Spark, and data processing technologies at scale.
• Fluent in Scala and familiar with functional programming concepts.
• Experience integrating and working with Elasticsearch for indexing and search.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and containerized deployments.

Responsibilities

• Implement data transformation, aggregation, and enrichment for analytics and ML initiatives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate data requirements into engineering solutions.
• Design and develop Spark Scala applications and pipelines for large volumes of data.
• Integrate Elasticsearch with Spark for efficient indexing, querying, and retrieval.
• Optimize Spark jobs for performance and scalability; ensure data quality.
• Develop scalable and fault-tolerant Spark apps; follow coding standards.
• Monitor job performance, identify bottlenecks, and propose optimizations in Spark and Elasticsearch.
• Design and deploy data engineering solutions on OpenShift Platform (OCP) with containerization.
• Collaborate with DevOps to implement CI/CD and ensure platform stability.
• Document data engineering processes and configurations for knowledge sharing.
