The Quality Control Executive is responsible for ensuring all raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods comply with company quality standards, customer specifications, and food safety regulations. The QC Executive plays a key role in monitoring production, identifying deviations, implementing corrective actions, and maintaining consistent product quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Control & Inspection
- Conduct routine inspections on incoming raw materials, packaging materials, in-process goods, and finished goods.
- Carry out sampling and organoleptic testing as per SOPs and quality plans.
- Verify Critical Control Points (CCPs), Control Points (CPs), and process parameters throughout production.
Compliance & Food Safety
- Ensure adherence to current GMP, HACCP, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, BRCGS and other relevant standards.
- Monitor hygiene, sanitation, allergen control, and environmental conditions on the production floor.
- Identify non-conformances and work with production to implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate QC records, including test results, inspection reports, and traceability documents.
- Complete and update checklists, logs, and QA/QC records in real time.
- Report any quality or safety issues immediately to supervisors or managers.
Continuous Improvement
- Participate in internal/external audits, verification and validation activities.
- Support quality improvement projects to reduce defects, rejects, and reworks.
- Provide feedback to production teams to enhance process control and product consistency.
- Engage with other members of staff within the Company to ensure tasks are completed on time and to the standard required by the Owners of the Company.
Key Skills and Competencies
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of food safety standards, HACCP principles, GMPs, and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to conduct sensory evaluation, basic laboratory tests, calibration checks, and physical/chemical measurements.
- Competent in interpreting specifications, quality parameters, and SOPs.
- Knowledge of traceability systems and non-conformance handling.
Soft Skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication skills for effective reporting and cross-functional teamwork.
- Problem-solving ability to identify and manage quality issues quickly.
- Ability to work independently under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Good observation skills and a proactive approach to identifying risks.

Digital/Administrative Skills
- Basic computer literacy (MS Excel, Word, QC data entry).
- Familiarity with digital QC systems or ERP is an advantage.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, or related field is advantageous.
- Minimum 2 years previous experience in a food manufacturing QC role is advantageous.
- Training in HACCP, ISO 22000, BRC or other food safety systems is an added benefit.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and flexible with shift schedules (if applicable) is preferred.
Working Conditions
- Predominantly factory-floor based.
- Exposure to food production environments (cold rooms, wet areas, etc.).
- Willingness to work weekends and evening shifts depending on production schedules.
- 5.5 day work week
