A global chemical firm in Singapore is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to oversee the Quality Management System at the Jurong Island Plant. This role involves ensuring product quality, providing on-floor support, and maintaining compliance with various standards including ISO9001 and IATF 16949. The ideal candidate will have relevant QA experience and a degree in a related field.

Qualifications

• Relevant QA experience in Chemical, Oil & Gas, Manufacturing industries.
• Knowledge or experience in Food Safety requirements.
• Prior experience with ISO22000, FSSC22000, BRC certifications advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Ensure smooth operation of the Quality Management System.
• Provide real-time QA support on the manufacturing floor.
• Implement and maintain Quality Management System and other standards.

Purpose of the Position

Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer's primary responsiblity is to ensure the smooth operation of the Quality Management System of the Singapore Jurong Island Plant is well maintained.

Job Description

• Ensuring that all products are accurately and timely release from the grading system, SAP maintenance pertaining to quality management.
• Provide real-time QA support on the manufacturing floor during production and operations, and changeovers.
• Implementing and maintaining Quality Management System (ISO9001), automotive core tools (IATF 16949), Food Management System (FSSC220001, GMP, Halal and Kosher), ARLANXEO Integrated Management System (IMS) elements.
• Executing of all 1st, 2nd and 3rd party audits pertaining to external certification, customers, suppliers and internal processes.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and cross-functional project teams to enhance quality systems and operational efficiency.

• Support inspection readiness activities and promote a strong culture of compliance and quality awareness.
• Train and mentor operations staff on quality procedures and best practices as needed.
• Supporting and back up functions of the Laboratory Supervisor role (where applicable).
• Supporting and back up functions of the Quality Manager role (where applicable).

Requirements

• Degree/Diploma in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline.
• Relevant QA experience in the Chemical, Oil & Gas, Manufacturing, or related industries.
• Strong understanding of cGMP requirements and QA processes and systems.
• Proven ability to manage customer interactions and deliver quality documentation in a timely manner.
• Knowledge or experience in Food Safety requirements
• Prior work experience in implementation and maintenance of ISO22000, FSSC22000, BRC or relevant certification is advantageous
• Working knowledge and experience in MS Office and SAP applications
• A good team player with strong initiative and an analytical mind.
• Able to work independently and under tight timelines; experience in Q&A shop‑floor oversight.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
