Job summary

Homage is redefining long-term wellness and care through an integrated platform. We seek a QA Engineer to validate web and mobile applications, design and execute tests, and contribute to automation while leveraging AI tools responsibly.

You will collaborate with product managers, engineers, designers, and care teams in a fast-moving, remote-enabled environment, ensuring release readiness and high-quality patient and caregiver experiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
• 2–4 years hands-on software testing experience.
• Solid understanding of STLC, Agile, and risk-based testing.
• Experience testing web and mobile apps, APIs, and backend workflows.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute manual and automated tests for web, mobile, and API workflows.
• Coordinate with product, engineering, and design teams; raise blockers early.
• Document defects with reproduction steps, environment, and evidence in Jira.
• Create and maintain test data; perform risk-based regression testing.
• Validate API endpoints and data consistency between frontend and backend.
• Support releases, sanity checks, and post-release monitoring.

We are looking for a passionate QA Engineer who cares about building reliable and high-quality products. You will work closely with Product Managers, engineers, designers, operations teams, and senior QA to validate web and mobile applications across complex business workflows.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable analysing requirements, designing and executing tests, investigating defects, supporting releases, contributing to automation, and using AI tools responsibly to improve productivity and test coverage. You should also be able to work independently in a remote and fast-moving environment while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work independently while collaborating closely with Product Managers, engineers, designers, operations teams, and senior QA.
• Take ownership of assigned testing activities, manage priorities, raise blockers early, and complete work within agreed timelines.
• Communicate testing progress, blockers, quality risks, execution results, and release readiness clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Review product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, designs, and technical solutions to identify gaps, risks, dependencies, and test-data needs.
• Design, document, maintain, and execute effective test scenarios and test cases across functional, integration, regression, exploratory, and end-to-end workflows.
• Perform manual testing across web applications, Android and iOS applications, APIs, backend-integrated workflows, notifications, user roles, permissions, and business rules.
• Prepare and maintain test data for different users, configurations, workflow states, and boundary conditions.
• Identify, reproduce, log, prioritise, and track defects in Jira with clear reproduction steps, expected and actual results, environment details, impact, and supporting evidence.
• Retest resolved defects and perform risk-based regression testing across affected areas.
• Perform API validation using Postman or similar tools and verify frontend-to-backend data consistency.
• Support build verification, release testing, production sanity checks, hotfix validation, and post-release monitoring.
• Use approved generative AI tools to support requirement analysis, test design, test documentation, defect reporting, API testing, automation assistance, and QA reporting while validating all generated output independently.
• Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated tests for web, mobile, and API workflows as a core part of the role.
• Identify suitable smoke, regression, and repetitive scenarios for automation and continuously improve automation coverage, reliability, maintainability, and execution efficiency.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, curiosity, and the ability to identify edge cases, risks, and potential regression impact.
• Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain issues and testing outcomes clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently, collaborate effectively, manage assigned testing activities, raise blockers early, and meet deadlines.
• Willingness to learn, accept feedback, investigate issues thoroughly, and continuously improve testing practices.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2–4 years of hands‑on software testing experience. Strong candidates with less experience may be considered based on practical ability.
• Strong understanding of software-testing fundamentals, STLC, defect lifecycle, Agile practices, test‑design principles, and risk‑based testing.
• Experience analysing requirements and converting them into meaningful and maintainable test coverage.
• Hands‑on experience testing web applications and mobile applications across Android and iOS.
• Working knowledge of API testing, REST concepts, HTTP methods, JSON, status codes, authentication, and error handling.
• Experience using Jira or a similar defect‑tracking tool and writing clear, reproducible, and developer‑friendly bug reports.
• Practical experience using generative AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, GitHub Copilot, or similar tools within testing workflows.
• Ability to use AI responsibly, provide effective context, validate generated output, and protect confidential or sensitive information.
• Hands‑on experience with test automation for web, mobile, or APIs using tools or frameworks such as Appium, Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Postman/Newman, or similar technologies.
