Job description

Job Purpose

Source, identify, research, including Stockiest and evaluate suppliers that meet the organization’s standards of price, quality, delivery, and reliability of supply.

Nature & Scope

1) Recognize and evaluate sales, promotional campaigns and other opportunities to secure reduced prices.

2) Assess supplier’s products to ensure that they comply with specifications and meet the organization’s quality standards & delivery on-time.

3) Analyze and evaluate suppliers’ quotations and negotiate prices and delivery conditions and commit to purchases (within established limits of authority) with terms that are in the organization’s best interest.

4) Manage & monitor customer forecast, inventory, production schedules, purchase requisitions, orders and other documents to co-ordinate purchasing activities with the organization’s current and anticipated demand for goods and materials.

5) Monitor the quality and timeliness of materials and goods supplied; follow up the status of purchase orders with vendors to ensure timely delivery; and communicate status of orders with internal customers.

6) Involve with larger and/or more complex purchases and suppliers that have higher impact on the organization’s products, processes and budget.

Accountability

1) Negotiate the best prices and delivery time with suppliers and vendors.

2) Sourcing for alternative or stockiest availability whenever existing supply fails.

3) Manage and monitor inventory effectively for the company.

4) Ensure Quality, Delivery, Cost and Flexibility are met from the suppliers and vendors.

5) Liaise with customer on obsolescence parts handling.

Knowledge

1. Strong sourcing skill of electronics & mechanical vendors/suppliers
2. Wide & good rapports relationship of components vendors/suppliers
3. Knowledge of AS9100 Aerospace requirement or minimum ISO9000
4. Strong Negotiable Power
5. Knowledge of Microsoft Package & SAP
6. PC Literate
