A leading electronic products distributor in Singapore is seeking a Purchasing Manager to develop procurement strategies and manage supplier relationships. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and at least 7 years of procurement experience. Responsibilities include guiding a team, negotiating contracts, and monitoring supplier performance. This role requires strong analytical and communication skills, as well as proficiency in ERP systems and Excel.
Develop and implement procurement strategies to support production, project timelines, and business objectives.
Forecast purchasing needs based on sales, project pipelines, and inventory levels.
Source, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, pricing, delivery performance, and compliance.
Negotiate contracts, pricing agreements, and credit terms to achieve favourable outcomes.
Monitor supplier performance (quality, delivery, responsiveness) and drive continuous improvement.
Guide a team of buyers to execute the purchasing function.
Manage, guide and mentor the purchasing team.
Oversee RFQ, PO issuance, order tracking, delivery scheduling, and shipment coordination.
Ensure materials and components are delivered on time to support operational and project requirements.
Resolve supply delays, quality issues, and discrepancies in collaboration with suppliers and internal teams.
Assist in the collection and reporting of market analysis, commodity trends, cost trends.
Work closely with warehouse and planning teams to maintain optimal stock levels while reducing excess and obsolescence.
Manage procurement budgets, cost analysis, and monthly reporting.
Ensure compliance with company policies, ISO standards, and regulatory requirements.
Support NPI (New Product Introduction) sourcing for new components and materials.
Support special projects as needed and required.
Participate in audits, supplier evaluations, and process improvement initiatives.
Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum 7 years of procurement experience, preferably in manufacturing, commodities, engineering, or logistics sectors.
Strong negotiation, vendor management, and contract management skills.
Proficient in ERP/MRP systems (SAP) and Excel.
Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Able to lead a team.
Flexibility as sometimes require early morning or evening phone calls with global team member.
