Job summary

A leading engineering company in Singapore is looking for a Purchasing Assistant. The role involves managing purchase orders, vendor negotiation, and maintaining procurement records. Candidates should have relevant experience in the construction industry, possess a GCE 'O' level or Diploma, and be PC literate. Mandarin-speaking skills are preferable as the role involves liaising with Mandarin-speaking site supervisors.

Job description
Purchasing Assistant (Fresh Level)

Location: Ubi Avenue, East

  • Data entry and maintain proper records
  • In charge of purchasing electrical lighting component
  • Process purchase orders and compile quotations
  • Source for supplier and negotiate for best price
  • Liaise with site supervisors and internal suppliers
  • Matching PO/DO
  • Take charge of daily purchases and overseeing the receiving section and the main store.
  • Monitoring of statistical data on inventory status
  • Follow up on orders to expedite deliveries
  • Maintenance of purchase order files, invoices, and related purchasing records
  • Coordinates the preparation of purchase orders based on approved requisitions
  • Ensures the processing of appropriate communications with vendors regarding the ingredients requirement and quality issues
  • Ensures the verification of invoices against original orders to ascertain compliance with all the conditions of purchase prior to payment
  • Provide general administrative support to Procurement Manager
  • Other ad hoc duties as assigned
Requirements
  • With 1-2 yrs relevant experience in construction industry prefers
  • With GCE 'O' level or Diploma qualification
  • PC literate, well organized and self-motivated
  • Able to source, select and manage vendor for both in Singapore and overseas purchase
  • Good interpersonal skills dealing with suppliers and vendor
  • We seek Mandarin-speaking candidates who are required to serve Mandarin-speaking site supervisor
