Job summary

A construction company in Singapore is seeking a Procurement Officer to manage purchasing activities. The candidate should have at least 2 years of experience in purchase order processing and demonstrate strong communication skills. Job description
Responsibilities
  1. Perform all procurement related activities such as raising a purchase order, corresponding with suppliers, and sourcing for materials and equipment
  2. Liaise directly with store personnel to effectively monitor and replenish various raw materials and for the daily operations
  3. Ensure and maintain proper record and filing & records system in the department
  4. Prepare purchase orders and send order requests to suppliers. Update records and follow up with vendors to check if the order is being processed
  5. Review purchase orders to ascertain accuracy and conformity with quote
  6. Manage supplier delivery schedules and effectively establish and maintain delivery dates for proper inventory control
  7. Coordinate with project sites and store for all incoming goods delivered
  8. Assist in resolving problems with purchases or services, discusses defective or unacceptable goods/services with users, vendors to determine the source of the problem and the appropriate corrective action
  9. Assist in the co-ordination with third parties including contractors and vendors
  10. Matching supplier invoice & delivery orders/service report against purchases orders
  11. Prepare of monthly outstanding PO report for management review
  12. Carrying out administrative tasks such as data input, processing information, completing paperwork and filing documents
  13. Adhere to purchasing policies, processes, and procedures
  14. Answering phone calls from customers/suppliers
  15. Other ad-hoc projects, duties and responsibilities as required by management
General Admin
  1. Assist and provide general administrative support when required
Job Requirements
  1. Diploma, GCE 'O' Level, or equivalent
  2. Proficient in MS Office
  3. Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with all levels of staff
  4. Demonstrates a sense of initiative with the ability to work independently and as a team player
  5. At least 2 years purchase order processing experiences in construction industry
  6. Able to work independently as well as in a team
  7. Positive attitude, meticulous and possess good organizational skills
  8. Able to interact comfortably with all people of all levels
