Public Area Attendant

Summary of Responsibilities:

The main responsibilities and tasks of this position are as listed below, but not limited to these:

  • Clean and maintain cleanliness of public areas and heart of house areas on a daily basis
  • Ensure cleaning procedures are completed in accordance to LQA Standards
  • Carry out instructions from the Team Leaders/Assistant Managers on the VIP event ballroom inspections, F&B outlets preparation and amenities for VIP events
  • Conduct Preventive Maintenance cleaning in the public areas
  • Report all engineering defects, damages of furniture, fixture and equipment to the Team Leader
  • Change all fused light bulbs in the public areas
  • Responsible for the safety and security of assigned keys, mobile and equipment by correctly wearing them and using them according to procedures
  • Cleaning of lobby, food and beverage outlets, Raffles City Convention Centre, colleague locker rooms, offices, staircases, lifts, escalators and service areas and wash rooms as assigned
  • Remove all trash and all items that should not be in service areas
  • Transport furniture, supplies as required by the department
  • Immediately report all maintenance deficiencies to the Team Leader
  • Send all soiled curtains and sofa covers to Laundry department for cleaning

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Primary 6 Education
  • Experience preferred but not necessary
  • Able to communicate in Basic English
  • Technical skills for Public Areas including use of machinery for cleaning purpose
  • Interpersonal skills well developed with guests and colleagues
  • Physically prepared for the physically demanding role
  • Attention to detail especially cleanliness, public areas presentation
  • Able to operate cleaning machines would be an advantage
  • Able to work independently, reliable, self-motivated
