A local educational institution in Singapore is seeking a qualified psychologist to evaluate students for enrollment and provide psychological support. The ideal candidate must possess a Master's degree in Educational or Clinical Psychology, be registered with the Singapore Psychological Society, and have a practicum experience. Responsibilities include formulating intervention plans, maintaining ethical standards, and collaborating with various stakeholders. Prior experience with special needs populations is preferred.
1. Evaluation & Assessment
Provide assessment, screening and interpretation of results and reports to determine suitability of students for enrolment and class placement.
Identify and use appropriate formal and informal psychological assessment tools to identify student needs
Identify and prioritise goals for intervention in collaboration with relevant stakeholders (student, teachers, families, caregivers, external agencies, etc) and a multidisciplinary team.
Provision of support for transition planning
2. Case Work / Intervention
Formulate evidence-based and data-driven intervention plans in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team
Facilitating the implementation, review and monitoring of intervention plans for students through a variety of means, including direct case work, collaborative group therapy, as well as consultative sessions with stakeholders.
Complete therapeutic notes, specialist reports, and other forms of documentation, in alignment with professional guidelines
Prioritize and manage caseload
3. Service Administration & Management
Maintain inventory of resources
Plan budget allocation and recommend relevant psychological therapeutic resources for the school
Conduct in-house training programmes for internal and external stakeholders (eg. teachers / parents / caregivers / volunteers)
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver and improve students/client support services
Participate in developing protocols and clinical guidelines to improve services in conjunction with the Head of Student Support/School Leaders
4. Maintain, professional, legal and ethical standards
Adhere to clinical and organisational professional, legal and ethical standards of practice, policies and procedures
Participation in development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and clinical guidelines in the improvement of organisational practices
5. Uplift professional practice in Psychology
Participate in continual professional development
Provide guidance to peers and interns
A Masters degree in Educational or Clinical Psychology. It is mandatory for all applicants to have a completed practicum experience during their Masters
Registered Psychologist with Singapore Psychological Society or a Recognised Psychological Board
Prior experience working with special needs children/adults will be an added advantage
Good team player with strong communication, interpersonal skills, and critical thinking skills
Able to work independently and effectively under pressure
Able to relate well to people and work effectively and harmoniously within a multidisciplinary team setting
