Job summary

A leading construction firm in Singapore is seeking a Security Manager to oversee project security and ensure compliance with protocols. The ideal candidate will have a recognized degree, at least 3 years in management, and strong communication skills. This position requires liaising with multiple stakeholders and conducting regular security audits. Only Singaporeans will be considered for this role.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Reports to Head, Security regarding project security matters.

  • Sembcorp Specialised Construction, a wholly‑owned subsidiary of Sembcorp Industries, provides design and build services with an in‑house multidisciplinary consultancy. Specialising in building, civil engineering, and infrastructure projects, we deliver innovative and efficient solutions to meet the evolving needs of the industry.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
  • Reports to Head, Security regarding project security matters
  • Responsible for aligning the Authority’s security requirements across multiple projects.
  • Liaise closely with Project Directors, Project Managers & staff to keep all abreast of security policy protocols to ensure no security lapses.
  • Key liaison with Client & Authority for project security requirements & incident management.
  • Assists with formulation of security workplan, including crisis management plan
  • Assesses Company security controls and systems to determine effectiveness
  • Ensures that all staff & subcontractors have requisite security clearances before accessing areas processing classified work, at assigned project sites.
  • Ensures proper preparation, regular review of Project Security Implementation Plan for endorsement by Client & dissemination and execution by project staff.
  • Responsible for security education within projects with regular security briefs, bulletins
  • Maintains high level of security awareness amongst projects.
  • Conducts regular checks, scheduled & unannounced security audits in areas of document, information, physical, personnel and IT security.
  • Assists the PD/ PMs in any investigation of security incidents, and keep Head, Security apprised.
  • Analyses security lapses, makes recommendations for remedial procedures, measures to be taken.
  • Champions security culture and behaviour within the projects; an extension of Corporate Security.

  • Recognized Degree from University
  • Minimum 3 years in a business or executive management role

  • Versatile, dedicated to efficient productivity
  • Experienced in planning and implementing strategic initiatives
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) & presentation skills
  • Demonstrates strong competency in time management and coordination skills with the ability to multitask in highly stressful environment
  • Good networking and liaison skills and provide the ability to meet deadlines and targets
  • Independent, resourceful, and able to work as a team
