Project Manager (Institutional Building Project | A1 Main Contractor)

Our client is a leading A1 main contractor with an impressive track record in delivering diverse and high-quality building projects across Singapore — including industrial, institutional, and commercial developments.

They are currently seeking an experienced and committed Project Manager to lead an institutional project. This role offers the opportunity to oversee a technically complex and high-security project, working with a company that values professionalism, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Execution
  • Take full ownership of the project's planning, execution, monitoring, and delivery in accordance with contractual, regulatory, and quality requirements.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams including engineers, site managers, and subcontractors to ensure smooth coordination and progress.
  • Establish clear project milestones and monitor progress closely to ensure work is completed on schedule and within budget.
Stakeholder & Client Management
  • Serve as the main point of contact with the client, consultants, and relevant authorities.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations, ensuring effective communication and timely resolution of issues or discrepancies.
  • Prepare and present regular progress reports to senior management and the client.
Budget & Cost Control
  • Oversee project cost management including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
  • Evaluate and approve variations, claims, and progress payments in line with contract terms.
  • Identify potential risks and implement corrective measures to mitigate cost and schedule deviations.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure strict adherence to client project standards, company policies, and statutory requirements.
  • Drive a culture of Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) excellence on site, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations.
  • Monitor construction quality and ensure all works comply with design specifications and technical standards.
Team Management & Development
  • Provide direction, mentorship, and support to project team members to promote high performance and accountability.
  • Facilitate collaboration and communication between site operations, procurement, and engineering teams.
  • Foster a positive and safe work environment aligned with company values.
Documentation & Reporting
  • Oversee preparation and submission of project documentation, including progress reports, technical drawings, method statements, and as-built records.
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping for audits, inspections, and client reviews.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience managing DSTA projects with an A1 main contractor or similar large-scale government projects.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Sound knowledge of local building codes, authority submission procedures, safety regulations, and quality standards.
