Join our team as a Project Manager/ Design Manager in the rail infrastructure sector, where you’ll lead and coordinate design activities to support projects across the rail, energy, and other infrastructure sectors. This dynamic role will see you managing projects, leading teams, and ensuring design quality and project delivery.

The Opportunity
  • Undertake day‑to‑day design management and coordination for ongoing and future rail infrastructure projects.
  • Lead a team of technical specialists to deliver high‑quality design outcomes under the guidance of the Project Manager or Project Director.
  • Manage project scope, time, quality, and performance, ensuring the timely delivery of design elements.
  • Liaise with stakeholders and negotiate suitable outcomes while ensuring design objectives align with project goals.
  • Contribute to tender submissions, project reports, and stakeholder communications to maintain strong client relationships.

Is this role right for you?
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and at least 5 to 7 years experience in rail infrastructure projects, C&S background with substation and programmes.
  • Membership or eligibility for membership in relevant professional institutions.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and industry standards (including OH&S and Arup’s Quality Management System).
  • Strong communication skills, both technical and non‑technical, with the ability to manage relationships at all levels.
  • A proactive, solution‑oriented attitude with the ability to work under pressure and foster team spirit.
