Job description
Responsibilities
  • Reporting directly to top management, you will have the overall responsibility and authority for the effective management and timely execution of the construction projects

  • To lead and manage a team of project engineers with responsibilities in the project management of infrastructure and facilities planning & development.

  • Ensure that all aspects met the government regulations and standards, including safety of works, inspections and testing of equipment and machinery, training needs of staff.

  • Control and monitor work progress and ensure work quality

  • Oversee the effective management of project activities to assure timely delivery and low wastage

  • Overall planning and controlling of the cost of project execution

  • Manage and lead a group of engineers

  • Overall co-ordination of the work progress of large and complex project

  • Co-ordination with other departments on issues affecting project works

  • Liaise with government/Statutory Authorities, consultants, clients, supplier and others

  • Provide timely project progress reporting to management

  • Detect Project problems and ensure effective corrective measures are executed

  • Other ad-hoc duties as and when being assigned

Requirements
  • Candidate must possess at least a Degree / Master in Engineering / Construction or equivalent, recognized universities under the BCA is a plus

  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience in project management

  • Working experience in local building/construction industry preferred

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, MS Project, Primavera and AutoCad

  • Possess excellent interpersonal, people management, good communication and negotiation skills and possess strong leadership qualities

  • Efficient, strong analytical skills and able to work independently

  • Excellent team spirit and able to lead project team towards project completion on time

  • Able to work under pressure to ensure smooth project timeline

  • Able to start work immediately or within a short notice
