Job summary

Longxiang Construction Pte. Ltd. is seeking an experienced Construction Project Director to lead complex building projects from inception to handover in Singapore.

You will oversee planning, execution, and delivery, coordinating with clients, consultants, and subcontractors to achieve objectives on time and within budget. The role requires a degree in Civil Engineering, 7+ years in building construction with leadership experience, and strong knowledge of project controls, safety, and regulatory

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering recognized by PE(B) and BCA Singapore.
• 7+ years in building construction with at least 5 in a leadership role.
• Track record on school, nursing home and factory projects locally.
• Main contractor project experience is advantageous.
• Strong planning, budgeting, contract admin, and project controls.
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, execution and completion of projects from inception to handover.
• Report to Management with progress, risks, budgets and resources.
• Manage multiple projects concurrently meeting objectives and timelines.
• Develop and monitor master programmes; identify critical paths; recovery plans.
• Lead teams, site staff, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Review schedules, manpower, procurement, and resource allocation.
• Monitor costs, budgets, variations and claims for targets.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, authorities and stakeholders on issues.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and company policies.
• Conduct site visits, progress meetings and reviews; take corrective actions.
• Oversee contract admin, tenders, procurement and project docs.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the planning, execution, and completion of construction projects from inception to handover.

• Report directly to Management and provide regular updates on project progress, risks, budgets, and resource requirements.

• Manage multiple projects concurrently while ensuring project objectives, timelines, and quality standards are achieved.

• Develop, monitor, and update project master programmes, identify critical paths, and implement recovery plans when required.

• Lead project teams, site management staff, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution.

• Review project schedules, manpower deployment, procurement plans, and resource allocation to maximize efficiency and productivity.

• Monitor project costs, budgets, variations, and claims to ensure financial targets and profitability are achieved.

• Coordinate with clients, consultants, authorities, and relevant stakeholders to resolve technical, contractual, and operational matters.

• Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements, safety regulations, quality standards, and company policies.

• Conduct regular site visits, project reviews, and progress meetings to identify issues and implement corrective actions.

• Oversee contract administration, tender evaluations, procurement activities, and project documentation.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and maintain high standards of project delivery and client satisfaction.

• Mentor and develop project team members, fostering a positive and high-performance working environment.

• Perform any other duties assigned by Management.

Job Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering recognized by the Professional Engineers Board (PEB) and Building and Construction Authority (BCA) Singapore.

• Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in building construction projects, with at least 5 years in a managerial or leadership position.

• Proven track record in managing school, nursing home, and factory construction projects locally.

• Experience with main contractor projects will be an advantage.

• Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, project planning, budgeting, contract administration, and project controls.

• Familiar with local authority requirements, building regulations, and workplace safety regulations.

• Strong leadership, decision-making, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage clients, consultants, subcontractors, and project teams effectively.

• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
