Job summary

Thakral One is seeking a Project Manager – APAC DWH to lead delivery of complex AI and Data initiatives across the Asia-Pacific region. The role involves governance, budgeting, and coordinating with business, technology, risk, compliance, and PMO stakeholders to drive strategic data transformation.

You will manage end-to-end delivery, develop integrated plans, and ensure successful outcomes within scope, time, and budget while embedding responsible AI practices and clear executive communications.

Qualifications

• 8 to 12+ years of IT project management experience.
• 2 to 4+ years leading large scale and complex initiatives.
• Delivered AI, GenAI, data analytics, or data platform programmes.
• Experience in regulated environments such as banking or financial services.
• Experience coordinating regional initiatives involving multiple stakeholder groups.

Responsibilities

As a Project Manager – APAC DWH, you will lead the delivery of complex AI and Data initiatives across the region, ensuring successful execution within scope, budget, and timelines. You will work closely with business, technology, risk, compliance, and PMO stakeholders to drive business value, maintain governance standards, and support strategic data transformation programmes.

What You’ll Do and How You’ll Succeed

Project Delivery and Execution

• Lead end to end delivery of AI and Data programmes and projects from initiation through closure in accordance with project management standards.
• Define and manage project scope, objectives, success criteria, milestones, and deliverables in collaboration with business and technology stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain integrated project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
• Identify, assess, manage, and evolve project risks, issues, dependencies, and change requests.

Stakeholder and Governance Management

• Act as the primary point of contact for business stakeholders, technology leads, vendors, and regional counterparts.
• Establish and maintain project governance frameworks, including steering committees, decision forums, approvals, and status reporting.
• Ensure alignment with regional PMO governance and head office requirements.

AI and Data Enablement

• Oversee delivery of AI and data platform initiatives aligned with business priorities and enterprise architecture standards.
• Ensure responsible AI principles are embedded throughout the project lifecycle, covering model risk, ethics, data privacy, security, and regulatory compliance.
• Translate complex technical and data concepts into clear executive level communications and decision materials.

Project Coordination

• Prepare, maintain, and regularly update project status documentation to reflect project progress accurately.
• Coordinate with project managers, peer teams, and stakeholders to manage meetings, follow ups, and task completion.
• Create and maintain Jira tasks, manage Kanban boards, monitor progress, and facilitate daily stand up meetings to address blockers.

Reporting, Quality and Continuous Improvement

• Deliver accurate and executive ready status reports, dashboards, and governance artefacts.
• Conduct post implementation reviews and capture lessons learned.
• Support continuous improvement of AI and Data delivery practices and PMO standards.
• Provide mentoring and guidance to junior project managers when required.

Financial, Vendor and Resource Management

• Manage project financials including budgeting, forecasting, cost tracking, and variance management.
• Lead vendor engagement and performance management to ensure delivery and quality expectations are achieved.
• Optimise utilisation of internal and external resources across concurrent initiatives.

Experience

• You have 8 to 12+ years of IT project management experience, including 2 to 4+ years leading large scale and complex initiatives.
• You have delivered AI, GenAI, data analytics, or data platform programmes.
• You have experience working in regulated environments such as banking or financial services.
• You have successfully managed regional initiatives involving multiple stakeholder groups.

Technical Expertise

• Strong understanding of AI, data analytics, cloud platforms, and modern data architecture.
• Strong capabilities in project governance, risk management, dependency management, financial management, and vendor management.
• Experience with project management and collaboration tools such as Jira and Kanban frameworks.
• Familiarity with PMO governance standards and enterprise delivery frameworks.
