Job description

The Project Manager will be part of the core Singapore operations team, supporting the national recycling scheme - Beverage Container Return Scheme (BCRS). The role is pivotal in identifying and driving new opportunities, including locating new sites, managing acquired locations, and coordinating with third-party partners.

This position demands strong stakeholder engagement and management to ensure smooth site acquisition and seamless handover to installation and operations teams. A key objective is to build long‑term relationships with customers, partners, local authorities, charities, and community organizations.

Rsponsibilities
Return Point Network Management:
  • Continuous monitoring and management of the return point network, including implementation of improvement measures
  • Identification, planning, and onboarding of new return points
  • Oversight of contractual and legal obligations related to the BCRS
  • Alignment of commercial terms with business and operational objectives
  • Coordination and alignment of all internal and external stakeholders (e.g., operations, IT, legal, customer service, scheme operator, contractors, site owners)
  • Achievement of defined KPIs
  • Preparation and delivery of progress reports to internal and external management teams
Stakeholder Management:
  • Effective management of internal and external relationships, keeping all involved stakeholders well-informed and reassured on the progress
  • Identification of key contacts for new clients and continuous evaluation of new and existing customers’ needs to shape viable partnership strategies
  • Development of strong, trusting relationships with senior executives across key property‑owning sectors, including independent supermarket retailers, shopping centres (owners and managers), local governments, charities, and community groups
  • Agile navigation of a complex stakeholder landscape with diverging and sometimes conflicting interests
Business Development and Sales:
  • End-to-end execution of sales opportunities to customers within the BCRS space
  • Accurate entry of all sales activities, pipelines, and customer records into TOMRA’s CRM system
  • Support in developing market growth strategies
  • Proactive identification and end-to-end conversion of strategic business development and commercial opportunities to meet business objectives
  • Continuous monitoring of scheme developments to identify and capitalize on emerging growth opportunities
  • Contribution to broader business development plans through insights from customer requests, local market knowledge, and experience, while exploring ways to enhance TOMRA’s offerings
Marketing:
  • Establishment of TOMRA’s local presence and brand in Singapore through strategic networking and relationship building
  • Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to develop and align marketing activities
  • Planning and execution of marketing-related activities (e.g., launch events, social media campaigns, sustainability events, pilot projects)
  • Management of TOMRA Singapore’s marketing channels and websites
  • Display sound business acumen with the ability to make commercially viable business decisions
  • Follow TOMRA SAFE Standards and Guidelines
  • Compliance with reasonable requests provided by your Manager or Supervisor
Quofilification
  • Minimum of four years' experience in a Project Management or Business Development Role
  • Experience, connections and networks within Retail or Retail property, and/or Waste Management / Recycling desired but not essential
  • Self‑motivated, resilient, committed and able to take initiative with enthusiasm to deliver business results
  • Proven ability to identify and engage with customers
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and strong time management skills
  • Proven ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a wider team
  • Interest in environmental sustainability
