Job summary

Ambition Singapore is seeking a Project Finance Analyst to join its clean energy investment team, focusing on solar and storage project finance. The role is numbers-driven, requiring you to build and stress-test models and present findings to bank committees.

You will own master financial models, run scenario analyses, pull inputs from internal teams, and coordinate with banks and ECAs to arrange long-term debt. Strong Excel and modelling skills and a CFA advantage are preferred.

Job description

A clean energy investor is hiring a Project Finance Analyst to sit at the centre of its solar and storage project finance activity. It's a numbers-heavy, model-driven role for someone who's as comfortable stress-testing a project's economics as they are walking a bank credit committee through them, you'll own the models that decide whether projects get funded, and help secure the debt that gets them built.

What you'll do:

• Build and maintain the master financial models for solar and BESS projects, and keep them current as projects move through each phase
• Run scenario and sensitivity analysis, testing how returns hold up against shifts in interest rates, inflation, tax treatment and power prices
• Set baseline assumptions by pulling operational and cost inputs from internal teams
• Track actual spend against approved budgets, refreshing the model as costs firm up
• Analyse variances between forecast and actual performance, explaining the gaps and what's driving them, and feed those lessons back into sharper future models
• Act as the primary point of contact with commercial banks, development banks and export credit agencies to arrange long-term project debt
• Pull together the full financing packageincluding information memoranda, forecasts and risk assessments - for lender review
• Negotiate loan terms, pricing, repayment schedules and covenants

Requirements:

• Degree in finance, accounting, economics or banking with CFA is an advantage
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in project finance or infrastructure/energy financial modelling
• Strong grasp of project debt mechanics - debt sizing, DSCR, cash sweeps and covenants
• Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills, with genuine accuracy under detail
• Confident presentation and negotiation ability as you'll need to pitch projects convincingly to demanding bank credit committees
