Job Description:

As the Project Engineer for one of our international banking clients in the APAC & MEA region, you will be leading the development, implementation, and closure of capital projects for ISS in accordance with ISS’s global standards within a banking environment. This could include large capital projects such as new office development, office relocation, office refurbishments, and technology installations.

Reporting to the Key Account Manager and a dotted line to the Regional Account Director, your role is to develop a strategic partnership with the customer and a deep understanding of the customers’ global and local business and purpose. Your main objective will be to create value for the customer by enhancing the workplace experience for end users through the successful completion of the Capital Investment Plan within the allocated annual budget.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Capital Projects

  • Review and provide comments of consultant’s submitted reports, design drawings, calculations, design docs, high level schematic design to meet Barclays Engineering Guideline, T&C scripts, etc.

  • Participate weekly project meetings such as steerco meeting, co-ordination meeting, weekly engineering meeting, construction meeting, T&C meetings, etc

  • Review and comments on the project schedule

  • Review and comments to gap analysis and DD reports

  • Review and provide comments Barclays required power and cooling requirements to the target buildings and explore mitigation and recommendation

  • Coordinate between local consultants on gaps and standards to best suit for Barclays

  • Review and provide comments on long lead equipment and MEP budget provided by consultants

  • Provide supports to the appointed MEP consultant to coordinate between internal Barclays team and external parties regarding to engineering matters

  • Provide supports and guidance to the appointed MEP consultant to resolve any challenges when they face. For example to provide drawings and explain to them on the design concept and Barclays standards

  • Gather the Engineering design brief/Barclays guidelines and explain to the appointed MEP consultant

  • Provide the operation requirements to the consultants and contractors to include into their scopes

  • Review and provide comments contractor material and drawing submissions

  • Review and provide comments on site reports, test results, FAT and SAT scripts and results provided by contractors

  • Coordinate between project team and contractors on design, construction and T&C works

  • Review and provide comments on the site progress by reviewing site photos or inspections on site

  • Review and provide comments on O&M manual and as built drawings

  • Following up defects with consultants and contractors to ensure they closed on time with good quality

  • Site attendances or attend factory test if required

  • Review and provide comments on the cost review including change requests, budget, etc

  • Coordinate to obtain design approval and sign-off from Barclays Engineering

  • Support on the project close out

Operations
  • Lead and manage all Engineering and/or FM CIP items in each year including PM, cost review, implementation, close out, review O&M manual and as built drawings

  • Support on the operation matters or ad-hoc works

Qualifications and Skills:
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or Facilities Management or equivalent.

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in a Project Management role with strong market knowledge and the ability to develop and deliver facility services solutions.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with proven ability to build and maintain relationships to work with people from all levels.

  • Self-motivated, confident and a dynamic persona with the ability to work independently and deliver desired results.

  • Commercial and financial ownership in a client environment.

  • Experience in interfacing at all levels throughout an organization and collaborating well as a good team player.

  • Communication and presentation skills of high level
