Job summary

ST Engineering in Singapore–Ang Mo Kio is seeking a hands-on engineer for electrical and embedded systems design. You will read specifications, design test fixtures, and prototype assemblies while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver robust systems for defence and public safety projects.

Applicants should be comfortable in a startup-like engineering environment, able to work independently with minimal supervision, and willing to participate in field testing and system trials.

Qualifications

• Knowledge in electrical/electronic engineering and power systems.

Responsibilities

• Project management including technical planning and vendor coordination.
• Reading design specifications and technical drawings.
• Design and prototyping of test fixtures and prototypes.
• Analyzing test data and debugging system or sub-system faults.
• Documentation of design reports, calculations, procedures and user manuals.
• Support system delivery and R&D activities; participate in field tests.

To be part of a Division / Centre on solving engineering matters as well as general engineering works which include and not limited to involvement in the design and develop of electrical systems and/or sub systems to the required specifications for use across (mainly) military applications e.g. Power generation and distribution in AC and DC Systems, Signal Distribution Systems, R&D of UAS or sub system of UAS.

• Project Management such as technical planning, engineering coordination, schedule tracking and vendor management
• Understanding/reading design specifications and technical drawings
• Design and prototyping of test fixtures, test jigs, mock-ups and prototype assemblies
• Problem solving, troubleshooting of System and/or Sub System equipment fault, proposing modifications of System and/or Sub System
• Recording, analyzing and interpreting test data
• Product development from concept development, detailed design, prototype fabrication and future improvement
• Preparing of System and Technical related documentation such as Design Reports, Engineering Calculations, Test Plan / Procedure / Reports, Technical & User Manuals and Technical presentations

Qualities We Value

• Knowledge in Electrical / Electronic Engineering or related
• Have knowledge in design principle of AC & DC Power System, embedded systems (circuit design) and material selection
• Proficient to draw Line Diagram, Schematic Diagram and/or CAD for PCB
• Problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Proficient with MS Office, Visio
• Team Player who will be working closely with multidisciplinary team (Systems, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics and O&S)
• Self-Motivated and eager to learn
• Comfortable working in a startup or growing engineering environment
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Capable of supporting both project delivery and R&D activities
• Willing to participate in field testing and system trials
